In 1999 Dejan Habicht and I spent three months in New York. According to the imperative of being a tourist in one’s own life, and the weight of the fact that the only real value of the photograph is memory, we photographed our movements across the city as if we were documenting our own steps. We had the films developed as we went along and stuck them to the studio walls. Successively we built a wall of May, June and July, all in all around 1200 photographs. A selection of 859 photographs was exhibited in Gallery P74 in Ljubljana.
